This might surprise you… 99.9% of everyone I photograph is nervous, scared, worried, questioning every decision that has led up to this point… you get the idea.
No one is immune to self doubt.
I’ve photographed other boudoir photographers who couldn’t make eye contact with me when they arrived for their session.
I’ve photographed body builders, who have stood on stage in their underwear while people literally judge their body, and they were nervous about stepping in front of the camera.
I’ve photographed people who have been on television and performed on stage in front of thousands of people, and they were just as nervous as everyone else.
One client looked through almost a dozen photos of herself during her viewing session before she realized they were photos of her. She had never imagined she could look like that and thought I was showing her photos of someone else.
I’ve photographed people who could model fashion ads in Paris, and they also worry about how they’ll look in their photos.
Some clients want wine before a shoot. Some want to bring a friend along for for support. Some talk non-stop and some barely talk at all.
No one is immune to self doubt.
Then ONE THING happens and all of that goes out the window.
We start shooting, I show you one shot from the back of the camera, and suddenly you’re a goddess with unshakable confidence and a new fire in your eyes. You’re unstoppable!
Every. Single. Time.
This is my favorite part of the entire experience. That one instant when my clients see themselves how they really are, not just as a bunch of ‘imperfections.’
So if what’s holding you back is that you don’t think you have the confidence/ability/body/anything to look GORGEOUS in a boudoir shoot… that makes you normal and no different than the women whose photos you see. The only difference is that they have already done it. Now it’s your turn.
