What Equipment Do You Need To Take Boudoir Photos At Home?

Learning to take boudoir photos of yourself at home can be a great way to boost your confidence, and to create spicy fun surprises for your partner. But what equipment do you need to take these photos?

There are 3 things you will need:

  1. a smart phone
  2. a tripod
  3. a phone mount for your tripod

A camera

your smart phone is perfect for this. If you have a real camera, that’s great, but for ease of use, your phone is ideal.

A tripod

This is a must-have for taking photos of yourself. There are two ways to go when choosing a tripod. Smaller ones are the fastest and easiest to use, plus they travel well. Larger ones will give you more options for creativity and different moods when taking your own photos.

Pro Tip: When the camera is above your eye level and looking down at you, you will appear more passive and submissive in the photo. When the camera is below your eye level and looking up at you, you will appear more powerful and dominant. When they camera is level with you, it is neutral.

Here are the two tripods I recommend:

A larger tripod will give you more flexibility but it is more cumbersome to use.

This smaller tripod is very easy to use and has a suction cup so you can use it for shower selfies.

Phone Mount

You will also need a way to attach your smart phone to the tripod. The larger tripod listed above already includes a phone mount. If you choose a tripod without that, here is the one that I use.
